The Ontario Hockey Association offers a Development 1 Coach Seminar once throughout the year in Waterloo at Wilfrid Laurier University.
The 3-day seminar provides junior and minor hockey coaches across Ontario an opportunity to learn from the experiences of some of the top leaders and coaches of the OHA, OHL, Minor Pro, and NHL. Seminar topics include hockey experts sharing their personal experiences of the new challenges coaches face with the new rule emphasis, season planning, offensive and defensive team play, tryouts and training camps, and many more.
The seminar will facilitate a Hockey Canada Development 1 Clinic (for those coaches wishing to obtain the minimum coaching certification requirements by the OHA).
Development 1 participants will also receive full certification upon completion of written assignment and filed assessments.
