PETER DEBOER: (Guest Speaker)
Peter is the current part-owner of the Oshawa Generals of the OHL. He was previously the head coach of the Detroit Whalers, Plymouth Whalers, and Kitchener Rangers of the OHL, and was the head coach of the Florida Panthers of the NHL. He is a two-time winner of the OHL Coach of the Year trophy and led the Rangers to a Memorial Cup victory in 2003. He holds a law degree from the University of Windsor/University of Detroit. He was the head coach of the Florida Panthers until April 2011.
ERIC CALDER: (Guest Speaker)
Eric is a retired defenceman who played two games in the National Hockey League with the Washington Capitals. The Capitals in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft originally drafted him. Prior to playing in the NHL, Calder became one of the youngest players to play for the Canadian junior team, as a 17-year-old, at the 1981 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He spent three seasons with the Cornwall Royals of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, winning the 1981 Memorial Cup as a member of the team.
BILL PETERS: (Guest Speaker)
Bill Peters was named the eighth head coach in Rockford IceHogs history and second in the American Hockey League as the top affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks (NHL) on August 1, 2008.
STEVE SPOTT: (Instructor)
Steve enters his 9th season with the Rangers. Steve was head coach for Team Ontario U-17 in 1999 & 2000. Was selected OCAA Coach of the Year in 1994-95 while at Seneca College. Prior to coaching, Steve played 4 years at Colgate U. (NCAA) from 1986-90 and 2 seasons of pro hockey from 1990-92.
TROY SMITH: (Instructor)
Troy joins the Kitchener Rangers for his fourth season with the organization. Troy played 4 years in the OHL as a member of the Plymouth Whalers. Following his junior career Troy played 5 years at St. Francis Xavier where he captured a National Championship during the 2004 season. Troy also played 2 years as a professional.
